Casey Feller, PMP/CSM, recently presented a session on Managing IT Projects with Agile at the Eastern Iowa Women in IT conference.
Casey’s session provided an introduction to the Agile methodology, Agile/Scrum pathway, and best practices. Casey included a dive into the Sprint planning, execution, and review process. She provided a glimpse into the project management tools we use at Redstone including Atlassian’s JIRA. Casey noted that the tools are only as good as the processes around them.
Casey fielded questions from attendees seeking advice for implementing the Agile methodology within their own organizations. Casey stressed that buy-in at all levels is critical to the success of the Agile methodology, including executives, project sponsors and project team members.
“One person cannot carry the Agile banner for this to work” warns Casey. “Agile works at Redstone because it’s what we do, from our executives on down – there is no other path.”
