DISE, from Display Evolution, is a digital signage platform targeted at advertising, public and corporate information. DISE’s main goal is to present content to viewers with high quality, dynamic playback, with full control and reliability.
DISE is being used at Redstone to show dynamic content. With clear messages and material which is constantly being updated; DISE positively impacts our employees and customers. DISE can display current information from multiple mediums simultaneously. For example, the webpage object connects to REST APIs which allows you to consume information from a virtually limitless amount of sources. DISE also provides a slurper for parsing, which allows you to clean up all otherwise cluttered data and makes it readable on the DISE platform.
How we did it: Redstone Use Case
Display unfinished assignments from our online task manager
Insert a webpage object into a scene
Within the DISE Composer, implement a webpage object into your scene.
Locate your task manager’s API
Once you’ve found the task manager’s API, you need to manipulate it to show the information you wish to see. We manipulated ours to give information on unfinished assignments.
After finding the correct URL, implement that into your code
We used the text editor Notepad++ all Redstone implementations. You need to take the URL you decided on from your API (see previous step), and put that into your code. Now is where a parser/slurper came in useful.
Connect your webpage object to the controller file via the webpage objects properties tab
Now that your code is ready, we needed to make the same changes on the composer. Within the properties tab on your webpage object, connect your editor file to the webpage object.
