The Oracle PartnerNetwork Specialized program assists customers by identifying the most qualified partners in one or more Oracle product disciplines.
To achieve Specialized status, partners are required to meet a stringent set of requirements that are based on the needs and priorities of the customer and partner community.
Partners are required to educate and certify a pre-defined number of staff members in each of the following four disciplines: Sales, Pre-Sales, Implementation and Support. Additionally, sales activity and client references are validated by Oracle, skills attainment and required certifications are validated by a third-party.

(Des Moines, Iowa USA) Redstone Content Solutions announced today that Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Iowa named member John Klein as “Entrepreneur of the Year” during their annual meeting on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in Des Moines. (source)
This award recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their business and community.
John Klein and partner Jason Stortz started their software consulting business five years ago in Klein’s basement. Since its humble beginnings, Redstone Content Solutions has grown to become a nationally recognized leader among information technology service businesses.
“John is recognized by his fellow EOers as a leader who lives the EO Vision of business growth, personal development and community engagement,” stated Rowena Crosbie, President, Tero International, Inc. “He exemplifies the EO core values each day.”
“When John told me he had left his secure, corporate position five years ago to start Redstone, (at the absolute depth of the Great Recession), I had a flashback to when my dad started our company under similar circumstances. Any “expert” would have told John that the economy was in shambles and it was the absolute worst time to start a new business, but in classic entrepreneur fashion, John and his partner, as well as their families, ignored conventional wisdom and believed in their dreams, ideas, and most of all, themselves. It is no surprise to me that John is receiving this award,” noted Will Moon, President, Iowa 80 Group.
In May, the Quad Cities Chamber named Klein’s company the 2014 Small Business Excellence Award winner in the 1-50 employee category. Redstone received high marks based on their display of innovation, leadership, community involvement, company history and organizational culture.

Oracle WebCenter is a User Engagement Platform that transforms businesses into social organizations by connecting employees with accurate information, at the right time, and in the proper context.
The robust architecture, expertise needed and integration required has led to companies outsourcing projects to WebCenter Specialized Oracle Partners. Outsourcing provides access to skills, experience and resources that many organizations would not otherwise be able to obtain due to the financial commitment required to recruit, hire and train these specific proficiencies in-house.
Selecting the Specialized Oracle Partner that can best meet your needs is not always as easy as it seems. The following considerations should be taken into account when assessing potential Partners:
You certainly don’t want your chosen provider to “cut their teeth” on your WebCenter Project. Thoroughly researching the five points below will provide you “peace of mind” as you embark on your project.
WebCenter projects can be sizable by nature and it is important that your chosen partner has a proven project methodology. It is not uncommon to request examples of previous project and/or communication plans. Additionally, your company has standards and methodologies that have been critical to your own success. Will your WebCenter partner incorporate the proven things that you do that have made previous endeavors successful? Be sure to ask about:
Stability and Financial Strength
Stability and financial strength are even more crucial with the uniquenesses of a WebCenter deployment. Also consider whether your chosen provider would be willing and able to help you become self-sufficient once the project has been completed. Please explore the following:
A good reputation within your industry or vertical market gives you confidence that your chosen provider better understands the issues you are facing.
Relationship with Software Manufacturer
Assuming that your chosen provider is not the software manufacturer, are they “in the trenches” with the manufacturer? Do they participate in alpha or beta testing of new product releases? Do they know the short and long term product roadmap? Find out the following:
Ask for examples to make sure the documentation will suffice and truly be a valuable resource when issues arise. Will the documentation that is provided at the end of the project detail your specific solution? When shown previous examples, ask to be pointed to solution specific portions of the documentation. Watch out for “boiler-plate” style examples.
Good “fit” for your organization?
This is often unnecessarily overlooked. Are the people that you are talking to in a “pre-sales” capacity the same staff that will be assigned to your project? If not, ask to meet the project team. An area that is often overlooked is the culture compatibility with your own organization. This is very important if you desire to develop a long term, lasting partnership.
Outsourcing can be a wonderful alternative during times when maintaining budgets are more important than ever. If you select a competent partner for your WebCenter initiatives, you will gain invaluable access to a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience on demand at a lower cost than it would typically cost for you to recruit, hire and train your own staff.

Oracle WebCenter Imaging & Process Management
Automating the capture of documents, classifying and routing them appropriately, and integrating this digitized content directly within critical business processes can transform the way a company does business. Payments can be made faster, documents can be accessed within the native context of business applications and the risks associated with storing, handling and accessing paper documents are removed.
While the benefits of automation may seem clear, the true measure of success is demonstrated in real-life business scenarios. On July 21, 2013 Redstone Content Solutions celebrated its four (4) year anniversary. In that time, Redstone’s focus on Oracle WebCenter Content, Portal, Sites & training has proven to be a successful business model for our company, employees and,
most importantly, our valued clients.
In 2009, amid the most recent economic downturn, Redstone opened its doors to introduce a new service offering to the Oracle technology community; however, the idea of Redstone began long before our doors opened.
Redstone’s origins can be traced back to the year 2005, when founders John Klein & Jason Stortz identified an opportunity within the enterprise content management industry. Klein and Stortz believed, despite the economic decline that the time to capture their share of the market at a profit was right now.
In four short years, Redstone has:
“We would like to thank the community, our clients, families and partners," states Jason Stortz, co-founder of Redstone. “I’m proud of our accomplishments; but we are not satisfied. We will continue to strive to become the preferred Systems Integrator for WebCenter products and services.”
Redstone employees will celebrate with a company dinner on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the Blue Cat Brew Pub in Rock Island, Illinois.
